FAQs

  • Sterling silver is a relatively strong metal; however, it is still prone to scratches if handled roughly. To help prevent this, I recommend removing your jewelry when working in rugged environments or before exercising. Removing your jewelry before swimming or bathing will also help keep it clean. A gentle polishing cloth can be used to buff out fine marks and restore the original shine. Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaners, as they may damage your jewelry. If a piece develops more significant marks, I recommend reaching out to a local jeweler to have it professionally buffed and polished.

If your jewelry includes stones, use extra caution in addition to the suggestions above.

  • Unless stated otherwise in the product description, all pottery is dishwasher- and microwave-safe when handled with care. Do not use your pottery in the oven or on the stovetop, as drastic temperature changes can cause thermal shock, leading to cracking or breakage.

  • I do not offer custom orders, as they tend to be open-ended and often require extensive trial and error. However, I do accept commissions based on my existing body of work. This means I’m happy to create pieces using my established shapes, forms, and glaze palette—tailored to your needs while remaining true to the style of MDH Studio.

I always encourage you to reach out if you have ideas or questions.

I am open to wholesale orders. Please email your request, and I’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.

  • Orders are processed within 1–3 business days, excluding weekends. All orders ship from my studio in Maine.

International shipping is available. Buyers are responsible for any customs duties, tariffs, VAT, or import taxes required by their country. Please note that I am not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.

Buyers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. Once a package is marked as delivered by the carrier, I am not responsible for lost or stolen items.

If you receive a damaged item, it is the buyer’s responsibility to contact me within the eligible timeframe outlined in the return policy. I will do my best to work with the carrier to resolve the issue as smoothly as possible.

  • I accept returns within 14 days of delivery. Buyers must contact me within the first 3 days of delivery to request a return. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

All items must be returned in their original condition and packaging to receive a full refund.

An item may be eligible for exchange if there is existing stock available in the requested style. Please reach out via email if you need help determining which items are currently in stock.

Commissions, sample, or sale items are not eligible for returns or exchanges.

My biggest goal is for everyone who receives a piece of my work to be completely satisfied. Each piece is made with time, care, and intention, and if there is any reason you’re unhappy with your order, please reach out—I’ll do my absolute best to resolve the issue in a positive way.

  • Supporting artists and makers goes beyond purchasing handmade goods. The arts play a vital role in our communities—preserving craft, encouraging creativity, and creating meaningful connections between people and place.

When you support handmade work, you’re helping sustain creative practices and the environments that allow art and craft to thrive. Even when purchasing isn’t possible, there are meaningful ways to contribute to a healthy, connected arts community:

    1. Share and Advocate
Sharing an artist’s work or recommending them to others helps strengthen the visibility of handmade art and supports the broader creative economy.

    2. Engage Thoughtfully
Engage with artists and share thoughtful, constructive feedback. Kind words and genuine encouragement can go a long way in supporting an artist’s growth. (Art is subjective—please always lead with kindness.)

    3. Show Up
Attending markets, exhibitions, and craft fairs supports artists in person and helps keep local and regional arts spaces active and accessible.

These forms of support help ensure that the arts remain a valued, sustainable part of our communities—now and for the future.
